National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) was created to serve a national need for better protection of life and property from natural hazards, for a better understanding of the total environment, and] for exploration and development leading to the intelligent use of our marine resources. U.S. Department of Education/Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools is the federal government's primary vehicle for reducing violence and the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco through education and prevention activities in schools. Initiatives are supported which promote school environments that are free from drugs and violence and the unauthorized presence of firearms and alcohol, and offer a disciplined environment conducive to learning. Consumer Electronics Association, CEA, promotes the growth of the consumer electronics industry.  Its membership unites more than 1700 companies within the U.S. consumer technology industry. CEA is the industry authority on market research and forecasts; consumer surveys; legislative and regulatory news; engineering standards; training resources and more. Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, was created by federal legislation to prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and help individuals and communities to recover from natural and man-made disasters. Citizen Corps exists to harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make America safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.
